Cookie policy
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. This policy explains which ones Kozolec uses, why, and how you control them.
Last revised 21 October 2026 · Applies to kozolecnews.com
1. Our approach
We keep cookies to a minimum. Only one item is strictly necessary for the site to remember your choice. Everything else is optional, switched off by default and used only if you say yes in the cookie notice or in “Cookie settings”. We do not use cookie walls: you can read every story whether or not you accept optional cookies.
2. What we store
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kozolec_note | Kozolec (local storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or refused optional cookies, and when | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
| Statistics cookies | Our statistics provider | Count visits and pages read in pseudonymous form | Statistics, off by default | Up to 13 months |
| Advertising cookies | Our advertising partners | Show ads, limit how often you see them and measure whether they were seen | Advertising, off by default | Up to 13 months |
We will update this table if we add or change a provider. No optional cookie is set until you give consent.
3. Legal basis
Under the EU ePrivacy rules, as applied in Slovenia by the Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom-2), and under the GDPR, we may store strictly necessary information without consent, but we need your consent for statistics and advertising cookies. In the United States, our use of advertising cookies counts as targeted advertising, which you can refuse at any time.
4. How to give, refuse or change consent
- When you first visit, a notice lets you choose Allow all, Essential only, or Choose to switch statistics and advertising on or off separately.
- You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent stops new optional cookies from being set; you can delete existing ones in your browser.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of advertising cookies.
- Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings. If you block all storage, the site will ask for your choice on every visit.
5. Third-party services
Links to Facebook, WhatsApp and email on story pages are plain links: they do not load any third-party scripts or cookies until you click them and leave our site.
6. Questions
For questions about cookies or this policy, write to privacy@kozolecnews.com. More about how we handle personal data is in our privacy policy. Last revised 21 October 2026.
