These terms are an agreement between you and Larch & Hay Publishing LLC, the publisher of Kozolec. They explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you when you use kozolecnews.com. Please read them together with our privacy policy and cookie policy.
Last revised 21 October 2026 · Applies to kozolecnews.com
1. Accepting these terms
By opening or using any page of the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. What Kozolec is
Kozolec is a free, advertising-supported news website that summarises and reports news from Slovenia in English for Slovenes living abroad, their families and travellers. We cover culture, sport, travel, science and transport. Stories are written by our own writers and are based on the sources listed with each story.
We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the site, including sections and features, at any time. We will try to give notice of significant changes but are not obliged to.
3. Who may use the site
The site is intended for a general adult audience. Users under 16 should use it with the involvement of a parent or guardian. You must use the site in compliance with the laws that apply to you.
4. Our content and what you may do with it
The texts, headlines, page design, logo, illustrations and code of the site are owned by Larch & Hay Publishing LLC or used under licence, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. “Kozolec” and the hayrack logo are our trade marks.
You may:
- read, print and save stories for your own, non-commercial use;
- share links to stories on social media, by email or in messaging apps;
- quote short passages, with credit to Kozolec and a link to the original story, for commentary, criticism, research or reporting.
You may not, without our written permission: republish whole stories or substantial parts of them; remove credits, copyright notices or captions; sell or license our content; or present our content as your own. To ask for permission, write to editors@kozolecnews.com.
5. Automated access and AI
You may not scrape, crawl or copy the site in bulk, or use our content to train, fine-tune or test artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, without our prior written agreement. Normal search engine indexing that respects our robots.txt file is welcome.
6. Letters, tips and other material you send us
When you send us a letter, correction, tip, photo or other material, you confirm that you have the right to send it and that it does not break anyone's rights or the law. You keep ownership of it. Unless you tell us otherwise, you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use it to check, report and correct stories, and to quote it, with your name or anonymously as you choose. We decide what to publish and may edit for length and clarity.
7. Acceptable use
When using the site you agree not to:
- break any law or anyone's rights;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, our accounts or our providers' systems;
- introduce viruses or other harmful code, or overload the site with requests;
- interfere with advertising, security features or other visitors' use of the site;
- impersonate us, our writers or anyone else, or send us unlawful, threatening or harassing messages.
We may block access from any address or device that breaks these rules.
8. Accuracy and no professional advice
We work hard to be accurate and correct mistakes promptly, as described in our corrections policy. However, news changes quickly, and opening hours, prices, road closures, event dates and similar details can change after we publish. Always check with the organiser, venue, operator or authority before you travel or make a decision. Nothing on the site is legal, financial, medical or professional advice.
9. Illustrations
Pictures on Kozolec are AI-generated illustrations and are labelled as such. They show the subject of a story in a general way and do not show the actual people, places or events reported.
10. Links, advertising and third-party services
We link to sources and other websites so you can check our work. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Advertisements are the responsibility of the advertiser. Any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and the advertiser.
11. Copyright complaints
If you believe that something on the site infringes your copyright, send us a notice to editors@kozolecnews.com or by post to Larch & Hay Publishing LLC, 117 Union Blvd, Denver, CO 80221, USA, including: your contact details; a description of the work; the exact page and material concerned; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We will review the notice promptly and remove or correct material where appropriate.
12. Disclaimer
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Larch & Hay Publishing LLC and its writers, editors and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Because the site is free, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing removes rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
14. Indemnity
If you use the site in breach of these terms or the law and a third party makes a claim against us as a result, you agree to compensate Larch & Hay Publishing LLC for reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, arising from that claim, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of that country continue to apply.
Before starting any formal proceedings, please write to us so we can try to resolve the matter informally within 30 days.
16. General
If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a successor publisher. These terms, together with the privacy and cookie policies, are the entire agreement between you and us about the site.
17. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. This version was last revised on 21 October 2026. Questions: editors@kozolecnews.com, +1 (720) 338-0379, or Larch & Hay Publishing LLC, 117 Union Blvd, Denver, CO 80221, USA.
