Drivers heading into Ljubljana on the Štajerka, the motorway from Maribor, should soon have an easier run. DARS, the state motorway company, says the main renovation works between Domžale and Zadobrova will be finished by the end of October and the full closure lifted.1
The section is being rebuilt and widened to six lanes. After the closure ends, work will continue at the right-hand edge of the road, mainly to finish noise barriers and smaller installations, with only the hard shoulder closed.1
Next year, the other direction
After a winter break, work moves in 2027 to the opposite carriageway towards Maribor, which will be closed to all traffic during the works. The traffic arrangement will be similar to this year's. The whole renovation is due to be finished in September 2027.1
Further east, this year's phase between Fram and Slovenska Bistrica is to be completed in November, and the main works between Slovenske Konjice and Dramlje are already finished, with two lanes open in each direction.1
